Counterbalance, rough-terrain, reach. Daily, weekly, project. Operated or self-drive. From 2.5-ton warehouse forklifts to 16-ton heavy-duty units — what you need, where you need it, when you need it.
Forklift hire is the unglamorous backbone of industrial South Africa. Whether you're loading and unloading low-beds, moving pallets in a warehouse, handling raw materials on a construction site, or shifting containers in a yard, the right forklift makes the work straightforward. We hire daily, weekly, or for project durations — operated by our drivers or self-drive with your own operators.
The classic warehouse and yard forklift. Sit-down operator position, twin forks at the front, weighted counterbalance at the back. Most jobs use 2.5 to 5-ton units; heavier industrial work runs 8, 10, 12, 16-ton variants. Diesel, electric, and LPG options depending on indoor/outdoor environment.
Construction sites, agricultural use, anywhere you can't operate a smooth-tyre warehouse forklift. Pneumatic tyres, higher ground clearance, four-wheel drive options. 3 to 12 ton typically.
Narrow-aisle warehouse work with high-rack picking — reach trucks for indoor warehouse environments. Side-loaders for long-load (timber, pipe) handling. Container-handling forklifts for ports and bonded warehouses.
Self-drive is the standard option — you supply qualified operators, we supply the machine. For sites without certified forklift drivers, or for short-duration / once-off lifts where it's not worth training, we supply qualified, ticketed operators with the machine.
Not every forklift job is a pallet in a warehouse. We provided the materials-handling support for the relocation of a live elephant from Pretoria Zoo to a wildlife sanctuary — moving the custom transport crate, feed, enclosure components and ancillary equipment under close coordination with the vet team and reserve handlers.
Loads like this are the reason capacity, ground conditions, operator experience and timing all matter on one job. A 30-minute delay isn't a forklift problem when there's a sedated animal on the clock.
If your job is unusual, tell us about it. We've seen enough of them to know which questions to ask.
